Dr. Manuel Joaquim Lima

Manuel Lima was born and raised on the island of Santiago, Cape Verde.

He achieved his business management degree at the University of Technical Studies, School of Economics and Management in Lisbon. Dr. Lima continued his studies at the Institute of Superior Sciences where he earned his Master’s Degree. Upon completion, he returned to Cape Verde in 1997 to launch a career in business and financial management starting as an employee at the Bank of Cape Verde, department of Economic Studies and Statistics with special emphasis on external investment.

In June of 1998 he joined the Stock Exchange of Cape Verde as an analyst in the Economics department, a position he held until 2003.

In 2004, Dr. Lima became the Commercial Director for the Chamber of Commerce of the Southern Islands with responsibilities for international marketing, commerce and competitiveness. He was later promoted to Executive Director.

In 2007, Dr. Manuel Lima returned to the Stock Exchange of Cape Verde as General Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the institution. He leads a team of young and talented individuals that is quickly becoming a role model of financial institutions in Africa.

Fez os seus estudos de Licenciatura em GESTÃO, PELA UNIVERSIDADE TÉCNICA DE LISBOA – INSTITUTO SUPERIOR DE ECONOMIA E GESTÃO - Portugal e Pós Graduação em GESTÃO EMPRESARIAL – pelo INSTITUTO SUPERIOR DE CIÊNCIAS DO TRABALHO DAS EMPRESAS, e Mestrando em GESTÃO GLOBAL – pelo INSTITUTO SUPERIOR DE CIÊNCIAS DO TRABALHO DAS EMPRESAS

Regressou a Cabo Verde em 1997, e ingressou como Assessor Técnico no Banco de Cabo Verde (BCV, no Departamento de Estatística e Estudos Económicos desempenhando a função na área de Estatísticas de Balança de Pagamentos e estudos da economia Cabo-verdiana tendo como tarefa específica a balança de serviços, o Investimento Externo e análise da conjuntura.

Técnico Superior da Bolsa de Valores de Cabo Verde, de Novembro de 1998 a Junho de 2003, Responsável pela área Económica

Director Comercial da Câmara de Comércio Indústria e Serviços de Sotavento, de Junho de 2003 a Julho de 2004, com domínios específicos sobre as áreas de Comércio Externo, Marketing Internacional, Direito Internacional e Comercial e Gestor do Fundo de Competitividade

Secretário Executivo da Câmara de Comércio Indústria e Serviços de Sotavento, de Junho de 2004 a Julho de 2007;

Desde então é Coordenador Geral da Bolsa de Valores de Cabo Verde.
